The G7 initiative CONNEX (CONNEX), represented through Columbia University New York, is providing assistance in the use of natural resources in view of providing data and advice on contract negotiations and aims at linking this to sector monitoring, policies and laws to ensure sustainability.
In 2015 the Alliance for Resource Efficiency was launched on the basis of a decision taken by the
heads of state and government of the G7 on 7 and 8 June 2015 as a voluntary forum for the sharing of knowledge and the establishment of information networks. The annex of the summit declaration includes an extensive catalogue on resource efficiency topics, which reduces environmental pollution and simultaneously strengthens sustainability, competitiveness and economic growth.
