The Organisation of African Geological Surveys (OAGS) was launched on the 2nd February
2007, as an initiative of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) through the
African Mining Partnership (AMP). The objectives of the OAGS is to facilitate cooperation between Geological Surveys across Africa, through the identification and implementation of geoscience capacity building projects, promotion of informative maps and publications, institutional capacitybuilding and the transferring of skills and technology. Our aim is to provide African Geological Surveys with a platform which promotes information-sharing, gained through past experiences, in order to support the African Mining Vision.
